ASPACE Valladolid

ASPACE center in Valladolid

Aspace Valladolid Association was founded in 1999 with the goal of improving the quality of life for people with cerebral palsy or related encephalopathies, as well as for their families. The complexity of cerebral palsy—its specific characteristics and needs, the wide range of severity, and the lack of any entity or institution in the province of Valladolid that could address these needs—led a group of parents, as in other provinces, to initiate the creation of Aspace Valladolid.

Learn about the history of Aspace Valladolid

The Association is a non-profit organization, declared to be of public interest, and is registered with the Regional Federation of Aspace and the National Confederation. The Confederation brings together the main associations providing care for individuals with cerebral palsy across Spain, with presence in all 17 Autonomous Communities, more than 10,000 members, and direct services provided to over 4,000 people affected.

Up until that time, there had been no dedicated group in the province of Valladolid, and those affected had to seek care in other provinces.

Aspace Valladolid is made up of parents and guardians of people with cerebral palsy and similar conditions from Valladolid and the surrounding province. The association currently includes the following types of members:

Full Members:

They have the right to participate in the association’s activities, submit suggestions and proposals to the Board of Directors and the General Assembly, and attend both Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assemblies with voice but without vote.
